Redford Township, MI – A 15-year-old boy was killed Sunday night after a crash involving an ATV and a vehicle in Redford Township, according to police.
The crash happened around 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, near 6 Mile Road and Kinloch. Officers with the Redford Township Police Department responded to reports of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and an ATV.
According to preliminary findings, the 15-year-old male was stopped on the roadway on the ATV when a vehicle traveling westbound on 6 Mile Road struck him.
Police said the teenager was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
Authorities noted that alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash at this time. The investigation remains active.
