One of the last remaining victims of the Feb. 13, 2023 mass shooting has reached a $2.45 million settlement with Michigan State University.
According to Campus Safety Magazine, MSU agreed to pay survivor Hanyang Tao, who was left with a bullet lodged in his spine and continues to suffer chronic pain, numbness, sleep paralysis, and PTSD symptoms.
This comes after MSU announced in June roughly $29.75 million in settlements with three other survivors:
– Nathan Statly: ~$14.25 million for catastrophic brain injuries
– Yukai “John” Hao: ~$13 million, plus waived tuition, room, board, and health insurance
– Troy Forbush: ~$2.5 million for a severe lung injury
