A Detroit Police officer is facing serious charges after a late night crash on I-75.
Prosecutors say 26 year old Officer Liam Collier was off duty when his vehicle crashed around 9:20 p.m. on September 20th near Mack Avenue. Collier has now been charged with operating while intoxicated and carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence.
Detroit Police confirmed Collier has been placed on administrative duty while the department’s Internal Affairs unit conducts an investigation.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The case now moves forward in court as Collier faces both criminal charges and potential disciplinary action within the department.
