A 28-year-old River Rouge man died after a single-vehicle crash Friday night on the Southfield Freeway near Schoolcraft.
The crash happened around 9:40 p.m. on October 17. Troopers responding to reports of a car blocking the left lane found the driver trapped inside. They pulled him from the vehicle and began CPR, also using an AED after discovering he had no pulse and wasn’t breathing.
Superior Ambulance took over medical care and transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“The freeway was closed for a few hours to complete the on-scene investigation,” said F/Lt. Mike Shaw. “This investigation pends medical examiner reports and further investigation to its cause.”
