A brutal homicide is under investigation after police say an 83-year-old man was found stabbed to death inside a home on Sheridan Drive Friday night.
Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. after a man called for help. When they arrived, they encountered a 35-year-old woman with blood on her hands who tried to run but was caught after a brief chase.
Police say the victim was found in the basement with multiple stab wounds. Paramedics tried to save him, but he died at the scene.
Investigators say the suspect was known to the victim and homeowner, staying there as a guest at the time. She’s now being held at the Royal Oak Police Department as detectives work with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office on possible charges.
