FORT PIERCE, Fla. — A group of sun-loving seniors has turned a quiet Florida boat ramp into their own personal nudist colony, by accident.
With the official clothing-optional Blind Creek Beach closed for parking renovations, the free-spirited crowd migrated a mile north to Little Mud Creek, stripped down, and carried on with business as usual. Unfortunately, Little Mud Creek isn’t on the “approved” list for birthday suits.
Deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office say they’ve been flooded with calls about “unauthorized nudity,” prompting foot and ATV patrols to, quite literally, crack down on the problem. Six beachgoers were cited or arrested on October 25 for “exposure of sexual organs,” a misdemeanor that can mean up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

“I just like a tan with no tan line,” one man told CBS 12, proving once again that Florida Man doesn’t clock out when he retires.
Locals were divided. Some defended the right to roast in the buff, others pointed to the signs clearly stating “Clothing Required.” As one woman put it, “Young families could be here, it would be odd.”
Lieutenant Andrew Bolonka summed it up perfectly: “We have an obligation to enforce all laws, whatever the law is.” Translation: if you’re going to let it all hang out, do it in the right zip code.
Deputies say enforcement will continue until the Blind Creek Beach parking lot reopens, or until the retirees find a new patch of sand to call home.
Moral of the story: Florida might be the Sunshine State, but that doesn’t mean everything needs to see the sun.
