Trump Grants Nationwide Pardons in 2020 Election Probe — All 16 Michigan Defendants Included

November 10, 2025 — Washington, D.C. / Lansing, MI

President Donald J. Trump has issued a broad proclamation granting full pardons to dozens of individuals connected to the 2020 presidential election — including all 16 Michigan Republicans who had faced charges under Attorney General Dana Nessel’s “fake electors” case.

The four-page document, signed November 7, 2025, describes the pardons as ending a “grave national injustice” following the 2020 election and continuing the “process of national reconciliation.”

The order provides a “full, complete, and unconditional pardon” for U.S. citizens involved in organizing, advising, or advocating alternate slates of electors — as well as those who raised claims of voting irregularities.

Michigan Case Collapsed in September

The move follows the collapse of Michigan’s high-profile case two months earlier.
On September 9, 2025, Judge Kristin D. Simmons dismissed all remaining charges against the 16 defendants, ruling that prosecutors failed to prove they “knowingly committed a crime.” The decision ended a two-year prosecution that once carried felony charges for forgery and conspiracy to commit election forgery — each punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

The pardons formally clear all those involved of the allegations made by Nessel’s office, cementing the end of the Michigan case.

Michigan Names Among National Figures

The Michigan electors listed above — Berden, Choate, Frost, Haggard, King, Lundgren, Maddock, Henry, Rodriguez, Renner, Rook, Sheridan, Facchinello, Grot, Thompson, and Vanderwood — were all cleared when the state’s case was dismissed in September.

Their inclusion in this federal pardon list now ensures complete legal immunity from any remaining investigations tied to the 2020 election effort.

The proclamation also covers high-profile national figures such as Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, John Eastman, Jenna Ellis, and Mark Meadows, signaling a broader effort to close the book on years of legal and political fallout stemming from post-election disputes.

What Comes Next

While similar cases in other states remain active or delayed, Michigan’s outcome — dismissal in state court followed by presidential pardons — marks the first complete legal resolution among the 2020 elector prosecutions nationwide.

The proclamation excludes Trump himself but directs the Attorney General and Pardon Attorney to issue official certificates of pardon to those named.
