Detroit’s 86th annual Thanksgiving Day Classic on November 27 will feature a major musical lineup, headlined by Detroit icon Jack White during the nationally-televised halftime show powered by Verizon. The Detroit Lions announced the full entertainment slate along with details on a nationwide charitable effort tied to the game.
Jack White Leads the Halftime Show
Jack White, the 12-time GRAMMY® winner and Detroit native, will take center stage at halftime. Known for his work as a solo artist and as a driving force behind The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, White’s return comes just days after The White Stripes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 8.
CeCe Winans to Perform the National Anthem
CeCe Winans, one of the most awarded artists in gospel history, will perform the national anthem. Winans has earned 17 GRAMMY® Awards, 33 Dove Awards, and numerous honors including recognition from Soul Train, Essence, and the NAACP. Her return to Detroit highlights a career spanning decades and a global impact on gospel music.
Feeding America Partnership to Address Food Insecurity
For the first time, the Detroit Lions are partnering with Feeding America on a nationwide call for donations throughout the broadcast. Viewers will be encouraged to visit FeedingAmerica.org/Tackle to support the goal of providing 5 million meals during the holiday season. Nearly 50 million Americans — including almost 14 million children — experience food insecurity, and the initiative aims to ease that burden during a time when families gather together.
Verizon’s Community Activation at Pride Plaza
Before kickoff, Verizon will host a high-energy charity event outside Ford Field, giving fans the chance to assemble hunger-relief kits in timed challenges. The activation will run from 10 AM to 1 PM in the Pride Plaza tailgate zone on Brush Street.
Thanksgiving Day Classic Broadcast
The Detroit Lions take on the Green Bay Packers on FOX at 1 PM EST, continuing one of the NFL’s longest-running and most iconic holiday traditions.
