Mount Clemens, MI – A Macomb County jury has convicted Jennifer Hayes, a 29 year old Clinton Township woman, of Assault with Intent to Murder for stabbing her boyfriend multiple times during a July 3, 2024 attack that nearly took his life.
The verdict was delivered on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025 after a five and a half day trial led by Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Maria Panchenko and Carrie Seward. Jurors deliberated fewer than five hours before finding Hayes guilty. She now faces a possible sentence ranging from any term of years up to life in prison.
Hayes was immediately remanded to the Macomb County Jail and will remain there until sentencing, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer M. Faunce.
According to trial testimony, Hayes stabbed her boyfriend 14 times at his Clinton Township residence. One of the wounds struck the side of his neck. The victim survived and later recovered from his injuries.
“I thank the jury for their dedication and careful attention throughout a lengthy trial involving extensive testimony and evidence. Our justice system relies on citizens who are willing to fulfill their civic duty in cases like this,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in a statement.
