Waterford Man Threatened ‘Molotov Cocktails for MAGA,’ Death Threats Against GOP Youth Chair

A Waterford man is facing a 20-year terrorism charge after police say he threatened to kill the Michigan GOP Youth Chair and vowed to “eradicate” the Oakland County Republican Party.

Investigators say Ryan Lewis Vallance, 34, sent violent messages to GOP officials, writing that he would use “Molotov cocktails for MAGA” and expressing a desire to “eradicate” the party and its donors. Vallance allegedly followed up with Facebook calls to the Oakland County Republican Party’s office, threatening to burn the building down and to kill GOP Youth Chair Krish Mathrani, 18, by “putting a bullet in his skull.” Police say he also threatened to kill every employee inside the office.

Bloomfield Township Police were alerted Saturday and worked alongside the FBI to trace the Facebook profile used to make the threats. Detectives identified Vallance as the suspect and located him in a vehicle near his home. During a traffic stop, Vallance was interviewed and admitted making the threats, telling investigators he acted out of anger toward President Donald Trump and the GOP.

Vallance was arrested and the case was turned over to the Troy Special Investigations Unit, which works jointly with Bloomfield Township Police. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a single count of False Report / Threats of Terrorism, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

He was arraigned on November 25 and given a $1,000,000 no-10% cash bond. Vallance is being held at the Oakland County Jail pending his next court appearance.

Statement from Michigan GOP Youth Vice Chair Krish Mathrani

GOP Youth Chair Krish Mathrani

“Threats and intimidation will never force me or any member of our team to back down from fighting for what we believe in. These kinds of attacks only strengthen our resolve and remind us why our work is so important. I will never be deterred by those who want to silence our voices.”

Statement from Oakland County GOP Senior Advisor Brian Szmytke

“Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we have seen a massive increase in threatening communications targeting our party, candidates, and supporters. We are deeply grateful for the strong partnership with law enforcement, ensuring those who attempt to intimidate our members are held accountable.”
