St. Clair County deputies say a Thanksgiving domestic dispute escalated into a near-fatal assault, leaving one man hospitalized with a stab wound to the chest and blunt-force injuries to the head. The victim has since been treated and released, but authorities say the woman responsible is now facing multiple felony charges including attempted murder.
According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Lake Huron Medical Center on Thanksgiving afternoon after a male arrived in the emergency department suffering from a stab wound. Medical staff notified law enforcement, prompting an investigation into the circumstances that led to the assault.

Deputies later responded to Catawba Dr. in Burtchville Township, where they took 28-year-old Taylor Spigner into custody. Investigators allege Spigner stabbed the man in the chest and struck him over the head with a blunt object during the incident. The victim was stabilized and discharged from the hospital following treatment.
Spigner was arraigned in 72nd District Court on Monday, December 1, where bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety. Court records show she faces the following charges:
Charges Filed Against Spigner
โข Attempted Murder โ Felony
โข Assault with Intent to Cause Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder โ Felony
โข Assault with a Dangerous Weapon โ Felony
โข Domestic Violence โ Misdemeanor
The case remains under investigation, and no additional details regarding motive or prior history have been released at this time. Authorities have not identified the victim, and no further condition updates have been provided beyond confirmation of his release from medical care.
If convicted of attempted murder, she faces the potential of a life in prison sentence.
