A former Oakland County physician who secretly recorded his own family, children, and unsuspecting women in public settings will spend decades in prison after being convicted on 31 felony counts across two criminal cases. 41-year-old Oumair Aejaz was sentenced to 35 to 60 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections, with 419 days of jail credit, after the judge ordered every count in both cases to run concurrent.
His convictions include first-degree and second-degree criminal sexual conduct, child-sexually-abusive activity, computer-use felonies, and multiple image-based crimes involving unclothed victims. And while this chapter of the case is now closed, the investigation is far from over: detectives are still reviewing additional recordings believed to have been made at medical facilities in other counties, where more charges may still be filed.
HOW THE CASE CAME TO LIGHT
The investigation began in August 2024, when Aejaz’s wife uncovered a hidden cache of recordings showing he had been secretly filming her, their two minor children, and female relatives inside the family home. She also discovered recordings of individuals undressing at Goldfish Swim School in Rochester Hills, leading detectives to uncover even more material. Prosecutors later confirmed that some evidence suggested possible recorded assaults at medical facilities in other counties, and those jurisdictions may still file additional charges.
On October 9, 2025, Aejaz entered no contest pleas to all 31 counts, a plea legally identical to a guilty verdict. Prosecutors stressed they offered zero leniency, zero deals, and zero concessions — the defendant pled straight up to every charge as filed.
