Two 25-year-old men from the Detroit area are now facing a combined 31 felony charges in connection with a Dec. 6 shooting in Muskegon that left two people dead and three others injured.
DJ Hilson announced that Tavin Irvin and Dewaun Robinson have been charged in the shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Jackson Avenue. Both suspects are currently in custody with the Michigan Department of Corrections, with arraignment dates still pending.
Hilson said families impacted by the violence have been notified of the update. He declined to discuss a motive but emphasized the seriousness of the charges, stating prosecutors intend to ensure neither suspect is released again.
Investigators believe the incident began as a robbery and escalated into gunfire among individuals who were familiar with one another. Police say all responsible parties are in custody and no additional suspects are being sought.

Court records show Robinson had been on parole for approximately six months at the time of the shooting after serving prison sentences for home invasion and firearm-related convictions.

Irvin had been released on parole in August 2024 after serving prison time related to armed robbery, carjacking, and firearm convictions.
The shooting claimed the lives of Joshua Foundren Jr., 25, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and Cori Marie-May Watts, 22, who later died at a local hospital. A 4-year-old child inside the home suffered a graze wound and is expected to make a full recovery.
