A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect across all of Southeast Michigan as dangerously low wind chills continue through Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit.

Forecasters warn that wind chills between 15 and 25 degrees below zero will persist into Saturday morning, with the coldest conditions occurring overnight. Wind chills are expected to briefly rebound into the single digits Saturday afternoon before dropping again to zero to 10 below Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service says the extreme cold poses a serious risk to public safety. Frostbite can occur on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, and hypothermia is possible if proper precautions are not taken. Residents are urged to limit time outdoors, wear hats and gloves, and ensure pets are kept inside during the cold stretch.
Lowest wind chills Saturday morning are expected to range from about 15 below in Detroit to more than 20 below in parts of the Thumb and eastern Lower Michigan, including Sandusky and Bad Axe.
The advisory remains in effect until 10 AM EST Saturday. Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and take necessary precautions as the bitter cold continues across the region.
