Trump Blasts Grammys and Trevor Noah Over Epstein Claim, Signals Legal Action

President Donald J. Trump went on offense early Monday morning after the 2026 Grammy Awards broadcast included what he described as a false and defamatory claim involving his name and the late Jeffrey Epstein.

President Trumps Truth Social Post

In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump accused CBS and Grammy host Trevor Noah of injecting politics and misinformation into what was supposed to be an entertainment broadcast, after Noah allegedly suggested Trump and former President Bill Clinton had both spent time on Epstein Island. Trump flatly denied the claim, saying he has never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere near it, and that the remark marked the first time he had ever been accused of such a thing by anyone, including the mainstream media.

Trump called the statement “false and defamatory” and warned that legal action may follow, signaling that his attorneys are prepared to pursue both Noah and CBS if the claim is not corrected.

“The Grammys are the WORST, virtually unwatchable,” Trump wrote, adding that CBS was “lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer.” He described Noah as a political performer rather than a legitimate host and accused the network of allowing an awards show to become a platform for partisan attacks.

Trump also noted that while he could not speak for Bill Clinton, he himself had never been to Epstein Island, and that no credible outlet had ever accused him of being there until Noah’s remark during the broadcast.

The backlash highlights a growing frustration among millions of viewers who believe award shows have drifted far from music and entertainment and turned into stages for political messaging and personal attacks. The Grammys, once a celebration of artists and culture, have increasingly been criticized for lecturing audiences, promoting partisan narratives, and inserting real-world political disputes into what was meant to be neutral entertainment.

Trump’s response reflects a broader trend of public figures pushing back against what they see as reckless accusations and political grandstanding disguised as comedy or commentary. By threatening legal action, Trump is making clear that entertainers and networks are not immune from accountability when they make statements that could harm someone’s reputation.

Whether CBS or Trevor Noah issue a correction or apology remains to be seen, but the controversy has already reignited debate about the role of politics in award shows and the responsibility of hosts to stick to facts rather than ideological talking points.

President Trumps Truth Social:

The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer. The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards. Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media. Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast. It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$. Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out. Also ask CBS! Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you! President DJT
