Minnesota – A former physician once known as a trusted “hockey doctor” for youth players is now facing a new round of felony sexual assault charges in Minnesota while already serving a lengthy prison sentence in Michigan for similar crimes.

Zvi Levran, 69, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, has been charged with six felony counts of criminal sexual conduct in Otter Tail County stemming from allegations involving two underage hockey players. According to court records, the alleged abuse took place between December 2014 and January 2016 while Levran was in a position of authority and providing medical treatment to the victims.
Investigators say one victim reported being sexually abused after suffering an ankle injury during a hockey game in December 2014. A second victim told authorities Levran assaulted them during the 2015–2016 hockey season while seeking treatment for a tailbone injury. At the time, Levran was practicing pediatric and family urology at Lake Region Healthcare, where he worked from 2011 through 2018.
The Minnesota case gained traction after Levran was charged in Michigan in 2022 for sexually assaulting a teenage boy during a medical examination. As the investigation unfolded, additional victims came forward, ultimately leading to 28 separate counts related to sexual abuse incidents in Michigan.
In April 2025, Levran was sentenced in Oakland County to 10 to 25 years in prison.
Levran is scheduled to appear remotely in Otter Tail County District Court for a hearing on Feb. 9, 2026, as prosecutors move forward with the additional charges.
