Detroit, MI → The Detroit Tigers have revealed a major shift in how fans will watch games beginning with the 2026 Major League Baseball season, announcing a new broadcast partnership through Ilitch Sports + Entertainment in collaboration with Major League Baseball.
According to the organization, the agreement marks a first-of-its-kind arrangement that will provide expanded broadcast support and create a new viewing platform for fans across the team’s home television territory. The same partnership model will also extend to the Detroit Red Wings starting with the 2026–27 NHL season.
Team officials say the goal is to give fans more flexibility, allowing games to be watched when and where they choose through a combination of traditional TV and streaming access. While the full structure is still being finalized, the move signals a continued shift away from the old regional sports network model toward more direct distribution options.
