11-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Taylor, Police Say

Taylor, MI → An 11-year-old boy who has been identified by family members as Jacob Robinson has died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Taylor, according to the Taylor Police Department.

Police say the incident happened on February 10, 2026, at approximately 6:37 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the area of Pond Village Drive and Eureka Road after a 911 call reported that a child had been hit by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they confirmed the victim was an 11-year-old male who had been struck. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts, including CPR, and secured the scene.

The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. At this time, authorities say alcohol or narcotics are not believed to be factors in the crash.

The child was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police say the case remains an active and ongoing investigation. The department is asking the community to keep the child’s family, loved ones, and the responding officers in their thoughts and prayers following the tragic incident.
