Man Gunned Down In Campbell Street Apartments Lot As Suspect Remains At Large

Detroit, MI → A man is dead after a shooting in the parking lot of the Campbell Street Apartments on Detroit’s southwest side Monday afternoon, and police say no suspect has been arrested as the investigation continues.

According to the Detroit Police Department, officers were called just before 4:30 p.m. to the 5800 block of Michigan Avenue for reports of a shooting at the apartment complex. When they arrived, they found a man in the parking lot who had been fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police from the 4th Precinct responded and secured the area while investigators processed evidence. Aerial footage showed multiple police vehicles at the complex, with evidence markers placed near a parked vehicle that had its driver-side door open and apparent damage to the front.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name or age, and officials have not said what led up to the shooting.

As of Monday evening, no suspect has been taken into custody and police have not released any description of a possible shooter.
