Child Porn Found On Phone During Corewell Health Shooting Investigation – Suspect Charged

A 21-year-old man from Washington Township has been charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.

Somehow this suspect, Frederik Stolaj ties into the Corewell Health Beaumont Troy shooting that happened back on March 20th of this year because as police were investigating the shooting they came into possession of Stolajs phone.

As you remember Robert Paljusevic was the shooter at the hospital and his victim is 25-year-old Tyler Matoin.

While examining Stolajs’ device it allegedly contained images of child sexually abusive materials. On Tuesday, July 22nd Stolaj was arraigned in the 42-1 District Court in Romeo before Judge Jennifer A. Andary on the following charges:

  • Counts 1-3 -Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material – each a 10-year felony
  • Counts 4-6 – Using a Computer to Commit a Crime – each a 10-year felony

His bond was set at $100k cash no 10%. If released he is to wear a GPS tether and have no contact with anyone under the age of 18-years-old.

“Today’s arraignment marks the beginning of our efforts to hold the defendant accountable for the serious charges brought against him. The evidence gathered in this case indicates the possession of disturbing and illegal material that exploits and harms vulnerable children. Our office is committed to protecting the most defenseless members of our community, and we will pursue justice with the full weight of the law,” said Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
