Juvenile Arraigned as Adult in Warren Shooting, Arson Case; $500K Bond Set

Macomb County, MI – A 17-year-old Warren resident has been arraigned as an adult on seven felony charges tied to an alleged shooting and arson in a neighborhood on the city’s east side.

According to Peter J. Lucido, Kaden Walls was charged following a Feb. 17 incident in which Warren Police responded to reports of gunfire. Authorities allege two individuals used accelerants to ignite a fire at a residence, and that multiple bullet holes were later discovered in a bedroom window. Prosecutors claim Walls fired several shots at the home before leaving in an SUV.

Walls was arraigned Tuesday before Michael Chupa in the 37th District Court.

Charges Against Kaden Walls

  • Assault With Intent to Murder – punishable by life or any term of years
  • Felony Firearm (2 counts) – 2-year felony, consecutive to the main charge
  • Second-Degree Arson – 20-year felony
  • Explosives – Placing Near Property Causing Damage – 20-year felony
  • Firearms Discharge In or At a Building – 10-year felony
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon – 5-year felony

Judge Chupa set bond at $500,000 cash/surety only. If released, Walls must wear a steel cuff GPS tether, have no weapons or ammunition, and have no contact with alleged victims, witnesses, or co-defendants.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Maria Panchenko represented the People at the arraignment.


Four Co-Defendants Also Charged

Three additional defendants were arraigned on the same charges as Walls:

A fourth defendant, Elijah Ingram, 19, Warren, faces separate charges:

  • Accessory After the Fact to a Felony – 5-year felony
  • Felony Firearm – 2-year consecutive felony
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon – 5-year felony
  • Fleeing and Eluding (3rd Degree) – 5-year felony

Ingram’s bond was set at $150,000 cash/surety.

All four co-defendants are subject to house arrest, GPS tether monitoring, alcohol and drug testing, no weapons possession, and no contact with victims, witnesses, co-defendants, or the targeted residence if bond is posted.


Next Court Date

All five defendants are scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference before John M. Chmura at the 37th District Court on March 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

Lucido said the allegations represent serious criminal conduct with real victims and emphasized that accountability is essential to protect the community.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
