Teen Shot Outside Detroit Edison Public School Academy, Two Suspects Sought

Police are searching for two suspects after a teen boy was shot the evening of Feb. 27 outside Detroit Edison Public School Academy on the city’s east side.

According to the Detroit Police Department, the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of St. Aubin, between Mack Avenue and Wilkins Street.

Investigators say a fight began inside the school gym and continued outside. Once outside, one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, striking the teen. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say the suspected shooter did not act alone. A second individual reportedly arrived at the school with the shooter and was also armed but did not fire a weapon.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying both individuals.
