Water Pressure Near Normal in Novi, Walled Lake as Crews Remove Damaged 14 Mile Main

Novi, MI — Water pressure in Novi and Walled Lake is returning to near normal levels after crews removed the damaged section of a major water main along 14 Mile Road, according to the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA).

GLWA field crews worked around the clock to expose and cut out the broken section of pipe. Officials confirmed Sunday that the damaged portion of the main has now been fully removed and crews are preparing to install a new steel pipe segment.

While pressure is improving across the area, a Boil Water Advisory remains in effect for both Novi and Walled Lake as the system stabilizes and testing continues. Residents and businesses are being urged to continue following boil water guidelines until the advisory is officially lifted.

GLWA says installation of the new steel section of water main is expected to be completed Monday afternoon, which will be a major step toward fully restoring the system.
