A Michigan man learned that driving drunk to the police station will surely result in an arrest for….driving drunk to the police station.
It happened at the Troy Police Station on July 23rd when a 43-year-old male drove himself to the station to drop off meds for his wife who was in custody.
When police spoke to him they noticed he was “unsteady on his feet and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person.” Police realized he drove himself to the police station so they asked him to perform a few sobriety tests.
He failed. His PBT was .162%, more than 2x’s the legal limit which is .08. Things didn’t improve for him from there. Once arrested he was given chemical breath tests from what I can assume was from a DataMaster DMT machine which is the test that is used in court. Those results? .175 and .177%.
It’s unclear at this time if he and his wife bonded out at the same time once he sobered up.
