Detroit Man Accused of 120 MPH Police Chases in Stolen BMWs Arrested by Macomb Auto Theft Squad

Mt. Clemens, MI – A 24-year-old Detroit man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say he led police on high-speed chases in stolen luxury vehicles reaching speeds of 120 mph.

According to the Macomb Auto Theft Squad, Caesar Cooper was arrested March 5 in Westland following an investigation into two separate police chases that occurred within a three-day span in the City of Roseville.

Investigators say Cooper was driving vehicles that had been reported stolen during both incidents.

Authorities ultimately located Cooper in Westland where he was allegedly found in possession of another stolen vehicle before attempting to flee from officers on foot. He was quickly taken into custody.

Investigators Recover Three Stolen Vehicles

Police say the investigation led to the recovery of three high-value stolen vehicles:

  • Red 2023 BMW 760i — valued at about $100,000 — stolen from Manheim Auto Auction in New Jersey
  • Navy 2025 BMW 740i — valued at about $101,000 — stolen from Manheim Auto Auction in Detroit
  • Black Ram RHO — MSRP about $96,000 — stolen from the Stellantis Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit

Already Out on Bond in Two Counties

At the time of his arrest, authorities say Cooper was already out on bond in two separate cases:

  • Oakland County: Conducting a Criminal Enterprise and Unlawfully Driving Away an Automobile
  • Wayne County: Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Motor Vehicle

Charges Filed in Roseville

Cooper was arraigned March 6 in 39th District Court in Roseville on two separate cases.

Case One

  • Fleeing and Eluding – Third Degree (5-year felony)
  • Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Motor Vehicle (5-year felony)
  • Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense

Bond was set at $250,000 with a GPS steel cuff tether required upon release.

Case Two

  • Fleeing and Eluding – Third Degree (5-year felony)
  • Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense

Bond was also set at $250,000 with a GPS steel cuff tether requirement.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
