Oakland County, MI – A Waterford man will serve years in prison after pleading no contest to multiple felony charges stemming from a violent sextortion case that began with threats to post explicit images of his ex-girlfriend online.

Muhammad Uffan Alam Khan was sentenced March 2, 2026, in Oakland County Circuit Court before Judge Kwame L. Rowe after entering a no-contest plea Jan. 26 as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the case began April 1, 2025, when a 20-year-old woman agreed to meet Khan in Auburn Hills after he allegedly threatened to post explicit photos of her online if she refused. Authorities said Khan had reportedly already shared explicit images about a month earlier.
Investigators said when the woman got into Khan’s vehicle to discuss the situation, he unexpectedly drove away and took her to a movie theater parking lot in Rochester Hills. Deputies said Khan took the victim’s phone and punched her in the face when she attempted to get it back. Prosecutors alleged he then locked her inside the vehicle, held her down and physically and sexually assaulted her.
The woman was able to escape and call 911, and Khan was arrested later that night.
Prosecutors originally filed several felony charges against Khan, including:
• Unlawful imprisonment
• First-degree criminal sexual conduct
• Assault with intent to do great bodily harm
• Bribery of a witness
As the case progressed, prosecutors added additional charges of:
• Third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving force
• Witness tampering / interference
Under a plea agreement reached Jan. 26, the court dismissed several original counts, including:
• Unlawful imprisonment
• First-degree criminal sexual conduct
• Bribery of a witness
Khan then entered no-contest pleas to the remaining three charges:
• Third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving force
Sentence: 4 years 3 months to 15 years in prison
• Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder
Sentence: 4 years 3 months to 10 years in prison
• Witness tampering / interference
Sentence: 2 to 4 years in prison
Investigators said the witness tampering charge stemmed from allegations that Khan and members of his family attempted to contact the victim and her family after his arrest in an effort to pressure or coerce her into dropping the case.
All sentences will run concurrently, meaning they will be served at the same time. Court records show Khan received 297 days of jail credit and began serving his sentence March 2.
The court also ordered Khan to register as a sex offender, comply with HIV testing, and have no contact with the victim.
