Mount Clemens, MI — A Canton woman has pleaded no contest to felony assault and domestic violence charges after prosecutors say she ran over her then-husband with an SUV during a domestic dispute in Warren.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Alaina Fain, 39, of Canton, entered a no contest plea on Monday, March 9, 2026, during a pre-trial hearing before Judge James M. Biernat Jr. in Macomb County Circuit Court.
According to prosecutors, the charges stem from a June 13, 2025 incident in which Fain drove a GMC Acadia over her then-husband in a Warren parking lot.
Fain pleaded no contest to the following charges:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault) — a felony punishable by up to 4 years in prison
- Domestic Violence — a 93-day misdemeanor
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Megan McKeon represented the People during the hearing.
Fain is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Biernat on April 14, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in Macomb County Circuit Court.
“Violence is never the answer to conflict. When someone chooses violence, they are not just harming another person, they are breaking the law,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in a statement. “Our community depends on respect for the rule of law, and my office will continue to pursue accountability for those who resort to violence instead of resolving their disputes in a lawful and responsible way.”
