Clinton Township, MI – Clinton Township police are investigating a deadly shooting that left two people dead inside a home Monday night, in what authorities are calling an isolated incident.
According to the Clinton Township Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8:00 p.m. to the 36000 block of Farmbrook Drive for a welfare check after concerned family members reported they had been unable to reach the residents.
When officers arrived, they observed two unresponsive adults inside the home through a window. Police forced entry and attempted to render aid, but both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the preliminary findings indicate the shooting was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The victims have been identified only as a 26-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both from Clinton Township.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Clinton Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit, along with the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office, are continuing to investigate to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
