Accumulating Snow Expected Across Southeast Michigan Sunday

Southeast Michigan is expected to see accumulating snowfall on Sunday as the region sits along the northern edge of a large storm system impacting much of the eastern United States, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit.

Snow is forecast to begin early Sunday morning, intensify through the afternoon hours, and taper off Sunday night. Temperatures are expected to remain in the teens throughout the event, resulting in a dry, fluffy snowfall rather than heavy or wet accumulation.

Current projections show the highest snowfall totals concentrated across southern portions of Southeast Michigan. Areas including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Monroe, and Adrian are forecast to receive between 4 to 6 inches of snow. Pontiac is expected to see 3 to 4 inches, while Howell and Port Huron may receive around 3 inches.

Northern areas such as Flint and Sandusky are forecast to see lighter totals of 1 to 3 inches, with locations farther north, including Saginaw and Bad Axe, potentially receiving less than 1 inch.

The National Weather Service says that snowfall totals could still fluctuate slightly as the system develops.
