Southgate Police and Fire responded early Monday morning to a reported structure fire at a Motel 6 on Northline Road after heavy smoke was seen near the front office and a guest room. Crews arrived around 5:44 a.m. and found flames coming from the roofline of the east building as the situation escalated.
All motel rooms were evacuated, and authorities confirmed everyone has been accounted for with no fatalities reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the scene is considered active as crews continue their work. Police are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
