Assistant principal bound over to circuit court on criminal sexual conduct charges involving minor

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 54-year-old Jerome Younger of Roseville has been bound over to circuit court on two criminal sexual conduct charges tied to an alleged assault involving a minor. Younger served as the Assistant Principal at the Edward “Duke” Ellington Conservatory of Music and Art at Beckham Academy in Detroit.

Prosecutors allege that on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Younger sexually assaulted a minor child.

On Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, after a Preliminary Exam before the 39th District Court, Younger was ordered to stand trial in the Macomb County Circuit Court. He faces the following charges:

• First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (Relationship), a life felony
• Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (Relationship), a 15-year felony

Younger will appear for arraignment before Judge Joseph Toia at the Macomb County Circuit Court on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.

Younger remains free on bond after posting the required amount. His bond was set at $250k cash or surety at 10 percent. He must wear a steel-cuff tether and is prohibited from contacting the complainant.

“The allegations in this case are very serious, and we thank the court for binding the defendant over for trial on these charges. Our focus remains on seeking justice and supporting the victim as the case proceeds,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
