Attempted Carjacking Suspect Arrested In Grand Blanc Township Case

An attempted carjacking investigation in Grand Blanc Township has led to an arrest, police announced Friday, December 26.

According to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on December 23, 2025, in the Parkwood neighborhood. Investigators initially released a public assistance request, warning residents not to approach the suspect, who was considered armed and dangerous at the time.

Police now confirm that Robert Clifton, 30, of Flint, has been taken into custody.

The arrest was made through the work of the department’s Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Michigan State Police. Authorities also credited tips from the public for helping advance the investigation.

Investigators are seeking an 18-count felony warrant through the prosecutor’s office in connection with the case.

During the initial search, police urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers of Flint & Genesee County, noting that tips could be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a reward.

As with all criminal matters, police emphasized that the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
