Washington, DC – The U.S. military has confirmed that three American service members were killed in action and five more seriously wounded as part of ongoing combat operations under Operation Epic Fury, according to U.S. Central Command.

Several additional troops sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions. Some are already being returned to duty.
Major combat operations continue. The situation remains fluid.
Out of respect for the families, CENTCOM says the identities of the fallen will not be released until at least 24 hours after next of kin are notified.
