A 39-year-old man from Dearborn is wanted for kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter in Pennsylvania and police believe he may be back in the Metro-Detroit area.
Police in Millcreek Township are looking for Jafar Almaarej after he allegedly took his 7-year-old daughter from a residence on Sunday August 3rd shortly before 2:30pm when he was invited to spend time with her. The mother was at work at the time of the incident.
His ex-wife has an active protection from abuse order against him that also lists the girl as a protected party.
Almaarej is also accused of sending a text to the mother stated that he had taken their daughter and if the mother contacted the police or the FBI they would have to “search for their bones,” according to information in the affidavit. Almaarej then deactivated his cell phone, police reported.
Police believe he is back in the Metro-Detroit area and is believed to be driving a black four-door Jeep Wrangler with the license plate 050G994. If observed, please contact 911 immediately.
