Clinton Township Police capture two after stolen Kia crashes on 15 mile – drone assists with capture

Clinton Township Police say two people were arrested Tuesday morning after a stolen white Kia Forte fled from officers and crashed on 15 Mile Road.

According to police, the incident began around 9:20 a.m. on October 28 when officers attempted a traffic stop near 15 Mile and Gratiot. The Kia sped off, prompting a short pursuit that was later terminated by command, though officers maintained visual contact.

Moments later, the car lost control and struck a light pole between Groesbeck Highway and Little Mack Avenue. Members of the Clinton Township Police Department and the Macomb County Auto Theft Unit quickly responded and arrested one of the passengers at the scene.

A second suspect ran from the crash, leading police through nearby yards, parking lots, and streets. The department’s drone team was deployed to track the suspect’s movements in real time. With coordinated efforts from ground officers, the second passenger was taken into custody without further incident.

Police credited teamwork with the Macomb County Auto Theft Unit for the safe resolution and reaffirmed their commitment to holding offenders accountable and protecting the community.
