Dana Nessel is at it again, wasting Michigan taxpayer money to sue President Trump. This time she’s joined up with other Attorney Generals to sue the Trump Administration to force doctors to provide transgender, intersex and nonbinary youth medical surgery if they are under the age of 19.
President Trump issued federal guidance that deters doctors and medical providers from offering gender affirming care to youth under the age of 19 years old, meaning if you’re not an adult – you can’t have the surgery. Makes sense to protect youth, right?
Not the way Nessel and other AG’s see it.
“The Trump Administration is attempting to strip away lawful, essential healthcare from vulnerable youth. These orders are illegal and dangerous and have no medical or scientific basis,” Nessel in a statement. “I will continue to protect families, defend doctors, and stop politicians from putting our kids’ lives at risk.”
Joining Nessel are the attorneys general of New York, California, Massachusetts, Illinois, and Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia, as well as Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.
