Mount Clemens, MI – A Dearborn Heights woman is facing felony charges after prosecutors say she struck a pedestrian with her pickup truck and then fled the scene, leaving the victim seriously injured in the roadway.
Peter J. Lucido confirmed that Jelnar Firas Kaddoura, 32, of Dearborn Heights, was arraigned on charges tied to a hit and run that occurred in Eastpointe earlier this month.

According to investigators, Eastpointe police responded on January 13, 2026 to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. The victim was found lying in the roadway with serious injuries to the head and chest and told officers he had been hit by a white pickup truck. Police say that just minutes earlier, an officer had stopped a white pickup truck in the area, and that same truck was later found to have front end damage consistent with the crash. Prosecutors allege Kaddoura was the driver who hit the victim and then drove away.
Kaddoura was arraigned January 29 before Magistrate Mark Makowski in the 38th District Court in Eastpointe. She is charged with:
- Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Impairment or Death, a 5 year felony
- Failure to Report an Accident, a 90 day misdemeanor
Prosecutors also filed a Habitual Offender Second Offense Notice, which could increase potential penalties if she is convicted due to Kaddoura’s prior felony weapons case in Wayne County for Attempted Carrying a Concealed Weapon. That case stemmed from an October 2021 arrest and warrant, followed by multiple preliminary hearings and a bindover to circuit court before Kaddoura ultimately entered a guilty plea on October 19, 2022.
She was sentenced on December 7, 2022 to probation, 80 hours of community service, and $1,498 in fines and court costs. Court records further show her probation was later violated, triggering a warrant and a $75,000 personal recognizance bond in 2023, followed by multiple probation extensions before she was finally discharged from supervision on July 17, 2024.

Court records further show Kaddoura was convicted in a separate Royal Oak case for Operating While Intoxicated after originally being charged with a high-BAC drunk driving offense involving a blood-alcohol level of .17 or higher. The case was resolved on a guilty plea in September 2023 and resulted in a sentence of probation, treatment, and court-ordered financial penalties. As of late January 2026, Royal Oak court records show Kaddoura remained in non-compliance on that case due to an unpaid balance of $1,851, triggering collections-based show-cause hearings and a formal Notice of Non-Compliance just days before she was arraigned in the Macomb County hit-and-run case.
The court set Kaddoura’s bond at $50,000 cash or surety. If she posts bond, she must be placed on GPS tether, enroll in Soberlink alcohol monitoring, remain on home confinement, avoid drugs and alcohol, and have no contact with the victim.
She is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause conference on February 10, 2026, and a preliminary exam on February 17, 2026, before Judge Kathleen G. Galen in Eastpointe.
Lucido said the allegations represent a serious breach of legal and moral responsibility.
“The defendant is alleged to have struck an individual with her vehicle and then left the scene, failing to summon emergency assistance. Drivers have a clear legal obligation to stop, render reasonable aid, and contact authorities when a crash causes injury. Our office takes this duty seriously and will pursue these charges as the case moves forward through the court process.”
As in all criminal cases, Kaddoura is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
