DETROIT — As part of the FBI’s ongoing effort to combat open air drug markets and violent crime, FBI Detroit took part in a nationwide enforcement surge known as Operation Coast To Coast, a coordinated two week operation targeting violent offenders, gangs, and illicit drug activity across the United States.
While jurisdictions from coast to coast participated in the operation, Detroit authorities played a significant role in the crackdown.
According to the FBI, the Detroit Division made 27 arrests, seized 36 firearms, and recovered multiple types of illegal narcotics, including fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.
Operation Coast To Coast focused on disrupting violent crime networks, removing dangerous offenders from the streets, and targeting the drug trafficking activity that fuels violence in local communities.
Federal officials said the operation reflects a continued commitment to aggressive enforcement strategies aimed at reducing gun violence and dismantling criminal organizations operating in urban areas.
The FBI has not released additional case specific details related to the Detroit arrests, citing ongoing investigations.
