Detroit Man Arrested as Drugs Found In Baby’s Car Seat

Port Huron Township — The St. Clair County Drug Task Force says it is continuing its aggressive push to remove illegal drugs from local communities in 2026, following two arrests and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics during enforcement operations on January 14.

Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Detroit Man

On January 14, 2026, Drug Task Force officers conducted a traffic stop near the I-94 connector and 32nd Street in Port Huron Township. The lone occupant of the vehicle, 59-year-old Larenza Richey of Detroit, was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located multiple controlled substances and a large amount of U.S. currency. Authorities said the drugs were concealed inside a child’s car seat after a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the vehicle.

Seized items included:

  • 26 grams of crack cocaine
  • 6 grams of powder cocaine
  • 8 grams of heroin
  • Large quantity of U.S. currency

Richey was transported to the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center and later arraigned in 72nd District Court. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

He is charged with:

  • Felony: Possession of a Controlled Substance; Double Penalty (2 counts)
  • Felony: Using a Computer to Commit a Crime
  • Felony: Maintaining a Drug House

Separate Search Warrant Nets Meth, Firearm

Scott Shreeve

Later that same day, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of 27th Street in Port Huron Township. The resident, 45-year-old Scott Shreeve, was located and arrested during a traffic stop.

During the search, investigators seized:

  • 144 grams of methamphetamine
  • Digital scale
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Quantity of prescription pills
  • Quantity of ketamine
  • 20-gauge shotgun

Shreeve was also taken to the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center and arraigned in 72nd District Court on January 16, 2026. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.

He faces the following charge:

  • Felony: Possession of a Controlled Substance; Double Penalty (3 counts)
