Domestic Assault Ends With Vehicle Stacked on Top of Another in Hall Road Crash

A violent domestic assault in Clinton Township spiraled into a dangerous chain of events Thursday night that ended with a major multi-vehicle crash along one of Macomb County’s busiest roadways.

According to the Clinton Township Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:38 p.m. to a domestic violence call in the 17000 block of Kingsbrooke Circle at the Garfield Commons apartment complex. Investigators say a 24-year-old woman assaulted a 24-year-old man with a weapon, causing multiple lacerations and trauma to his neck and upper torso. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Trax.

Clinton Township Fire Department personnel treated the injured man at the scene before he was transported by Medstar Ambulance to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Just eight minutes after the original 911 call, emergency dispatchers began receiving a surge of reports about a serious crash on eastbound Hall Road west of Romeo Plank Road. Police say the same black Chevrolet Trax involved in the domestic assault struck multiple other vehicles while traveling eastbound.

The collision left the roadway littered with damaged vehicles, with the Chevrolet Trax ultimately coming to rest on top of one of the several cars it had struck, underscoring the severity of the crash.

The driver of the Chevrolet Trax was treated for injuries at the scene and transported to a hospital by Medstar Ambulance. Police say she was later released into the custody of the Clinton Township Police Department and will remain in custody pending arraignment. No additional injuries beyond those already reported were immediately disclosed.
