Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido has confirmed that 52-year-old Andrew Logan Williams, the convicted sex offender from Eastpointe arrested last month in New York, has now been arraigned on multiple felony charges following his extradition back to Michigan.
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Williams appeared before Magistrate Jean M. Cloud at the Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens. He was formally charged with:
⌁ Two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, First Degree (victim under 13, defendant over 17), punishable by up to life in prison
⌁ Kidnapping, also punishable by up to life in prison
⌁ Child Sexually Abusive Activity, a 20-year felony
Magistrate Cloud denied bond and ordered Williams held in the Macomb County Jail. Future hearing dates have not yet been scheduled.
Investigators allege that on September 22, 2025, Williams kidnapped a 12-year-old girl walking near his home, sexually assaulted her inside his residence, and then took explicit photographs of the child. The victim managed to escape and alert a neighbor, who immediately contacted Eastpointe police.
By the time authorities obtained a search warrant, Williams had already abandoned his home and fled the state. The U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested him in New York on September 23, less than 24 hours after the assault.
“This defendant has been arraigned on charges of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor,” Prosecutor Lucido said in a statement. “These are among the most serious and reprehensible crimes our office prosecutes. While the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law, we will pursue this case aggressively to ensure accountability and to deliver justice for the victim.”
Williams, who is listed as an active and compliant offender on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry, remains behind bars without bond.
All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
