Former Michigan Department of Corrections officer Joshua Lee, 22, of Wyandotte, has been charged with four counts of Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (State Prisoner), each a 15-year felony after allegedly engaging in sexual acts with multiple inmates while working at the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility.
Lee was arraigned October 30 before Magistrate Odetalla M. Odetalla in Ypsilanti’s 14A-2 District Court and granted a $5,000 personal bond, meaning he was released without paying cash up front.
Attorney General Dana Nessel said her office will continue to hold corrections staff accountable for abusing positions of power, calling for tougher penalties for sexual penetration cases involving inmates.
Lee’s next court date is November 6.
