Detroit police shut down two gang-operated narcotics locations last week, taking a significant amount of drugs, cash, and firearms off the streets.

On January 16, 2026, officers conducted a coordinated narcotics operation in the 17000 block of Hull and the 18000 block of Cardoni. Both locations had been identified by investigators as being operated by the same gang, according to police.
The operation involved multiple units within the Detroit Police Department, including the 11th Precinct Special Operations Unit, the Gang Intelligence Unit, and the Traffic Enforcement Unit. Police confirmed three felony arrests were made during the raids.
Investigators recovered a large quantity of illegal drugs and weapons, including:
- 27,629 grams of marijuana
- 101 Xanax pills
- 350 oxycodone pills
- 354 fentanyl pills
- 22 bottles of promethazine
- One mason jar containing marijuana wax
- $14,825 in cash
- One handgun
- One SKS-style rifle

Police estimate the total street value of the seized narcotics and related items at approximately $172,465.
Authorities credited the operation to coordinated police work and intelligence-driven enforcement, noting that the targeted locations had been under investigation prior to the takedown.
Detroit police continue to urge residents to report criminal activity. Active crimes should be reported by calling or texting 911. Non-emergency tips can be made by calling 313-267-4600.
