Grand Rapids School Official Arrested After Online Child Exploitation Investigation

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Grand Rapids Public Schools custodial worker has been arrested and charged following an online child exploitation investigation, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say 44-year-old Brian Pollock engaged in inappropriate online communications with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old child. The case was initially identified by another jurisdiction before being transferred to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, where the Human Trafficking Task Force assumed control of the investigation.

The suspect was taken into custody on December 30, 2025, and arraigned on January 2, 2026. He faces charges of Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. Bond was set at $25,000, or 10%. Records show Pollock posted $2,500 and has been released.

Grand Rapids Public Schools confirmed the man is employed as a custodial worker at Harrison Park Academy. District officials stated he will not be allowed on school property while the investigation remains ongoing.

“This case is a reminder of the dangers that exist online, and we will not allow anyone to use online platforms to exploit children,” the Kent County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
