INKSTER, Mich. — A fast-moving situation Thursday night in Inkster ended with a suspect in custody and a large cache of weapons taken off the street after a fight escalated into gunfire, according to the Inkster Police Department.

Officers were called at approximately 7:30 p.m. on February 5 to the 26000 block of Dartmouth Street for reports of a fight that quickly turned into shots fired. Police say their swift response allowed them to safely detain a suspect at the scene and secure multiple firearms before anyone was hurt.
During the incident, officers recovered a significant number of weapons and ammunition, including three rifles, three handguns, one shotgun, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Inkster Police Chief Tamika Jenkins credited the responding officers for their quick and decisive actions, noting that their professionalism helped prevent what could have turned into a far more serious situation.
