GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI — A 19-year-old Interlochen man has been arrested on arson charges following a house fire in Green Lake Township, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers from the MSP Traverse City Post were dispatched to a residence at approximately 7:00 p.m. on January 19 after receiving reports of a structure fire. Fire crews from multiple surrounding departments responded and battled the blaze amid subzero temperatures and blowing snow.
Investigators say a preliminary investigation determined the fire was intentionally set inside the home. The 19-year-old suspect, Keegan Vanhorne and his dog were outside the residence when first responders arrived.
No injuries were reported, and authorities confirmed there was no damage to nearby homes.
The suspect was arrested without incident and lodged at the Grand Traverse County Jail. The case remains under investigation and is pending arraignment.
Assisting agencies included the Green Lake Township Fire Department, Blair Township Fire Department, Long Lake Township Fire Department, Elmwood Township Fire Department, Almira Township Fire Department, Inland Township Fire Department, Buckley Fire Department, and the Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department.
