A Macomb County man is nearly half a million dollars richer after hitting a $491,980 Fantasy 5 jackpot in the Dec. 27 Michigan Lottery drawing.

The 60-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched all five numbers — 10-13-25-30-37 — to win the top prize. The winning ticket was purchased at the Meijer store located at 29505 Mound Road in Warren, turning an ordinary shopping trip into a life-changing moment.
The winner said Fantasy 5 and KENO! are the two games he plays most often, but even he couldn’t believe what he was seeing when he checked his ticket.
“When I checked my Fantasy 5 ticket and saw all my numbers, I looked it over again, and again, and again. It was hard to believe that I really won,” the player said. “Winning is a good feeling because it’s money you don’t have to work to get. It’s like a big bonus.”
After verifying the numbers, the man made the trip to Michigan Lottery headquarters to officially claim his prize.
With nearly half a million dollars now in hand, the Macomb County resident says his first priority is stability. He plans to pay off his home and save the remainder.
