A Macomb County man is the sole winner of a record-breaking $32.91 million Lotto 47 jackpot, after the numbers he has played for two decades were finally drawn on December 13, 2025.

The lucky winner, a 73-year-old Michigan resident who chose to remain anonymous, matched all six winning Lotto 47 numbers — 02-03-12-15-16-33 — in the December 13 drawing to secure the largest jackpot in the game’s history.
The winning ticket was purchased at Wild Bill’s Tobacco, located at 46518 Gratiot Avenue in Chesterfield Township, roughly 35 miles north of Detroit.
“I have been playing Lotto 47 for 20 years and I’ve always played the same sets of numbers,” the winner said. “When I checked my ticket, I saw right away I matched three numbers and thought at least I got $5 back. When I realized I matched the rest, I rubbed my eyes and checked again because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
The man said he immediately contacted his children, who initially did not believe him until they saw the ticket themselves.
“They had to come over and see it in person,” he said. “We were so excited. You never expect something like this to happen, so it still hasn’t fully sunk in.”
The winner recently visited Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim the prize. He opted for a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $22.8 million, instead of annuity payments over time.
Despite the life-changing amount, his immediate plans are modest.
“Honestly, the first thing on my list is just treating myself to a new pair of shoes,” he said with a laugh. “I also plan to share some of my winnings with my family and get a new car.”
