Macomb County By Way Of West Virginia — A Macomb County man with an extensive felony record was arrested in West Virginia after police say multiple search warrants led to the seizure of fentanyl, a firearm, U.S. currency and a live explosive device.

According to the Huntington Police Department “Rico,” aka Dewayne Felix Herman, 44, from Macomb County, was taken into custody Wednesday, January 21st following the execution of two search warrants in Huntington.
Police said investigators seized a large quantity of fentanyl, U.S. currency, a firearm and a live handheld explosive device during the searches.
Court records reviewed by New Media Detroit show Herman was released from prison right here in Michigan in September 2025, after serving multiple sentences tied to felony drug and weapons convictions.
Despite his recent release here, police said Herman was already out on bond in West Virginia from a November arrest. That’s right. He left Michigan in September, got nailed in West Virginia in November and then was just popped again.
Talk about just happening to slip, fall and land into a big ol’ pile of drugs time and time again.
Herman now faces the following charges in West Virginia:
• Four counts of delivery of a controlled substance
• One count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver
• One count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm
Herman was arraigned and was issued a $250,000 cash-only bond. At the time of his arrest, Herman was already out on bond stemming from a November 2025 arrest for a misdemeanor charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and a felony charge of Being a Prohibited Person with a Firearm.
