Macomb County has its first licensed marijuana smoking lounge as Burn1 has opened its doors.
Also known as “consumption lounges” or “smoke shops” the new business is located in Utica in the former place where the Red Ox Tavern was located at 45411 Park Avenue.
Burn1 says it’s more than a “run-of-the-mill dispensary.” It bills itself as a neighborhood “corner store” for weed, offering a wide selection of products from top Michigan brands (Peninsula Gardens, LocalGrove, Jeeter, Stiiizy, and more).
Believe it or not there is no official food offering in the form of an open kitchen on site because the State of Michigan doesn’t allow on-site food service inside cannabis lounges in Michigan.
However, the building does offer vending machines available inside the lounge which is a clever work around.
Plans in the future call for live bands, “puff-n-paint” sessions, a dab bar and more.
